Where would we be without computers? In today's hi-tech digital age where computers take us by the hand throughout the majority of our fast-paced lives, we can but be amazed when just twenty-five years ago we had simple, rubber-keyed computers sporting a minute amount of memory, basic graphics with very little colour and not forgetting simple sound effects that consisted mostly of beeps and bops. Not to mention having to wait five minutes for the game or application to load via the trusty tape recorder!

But did we care about all of this at the time? Of course not! We had in our hands a doorway; an open portal to a world of games that we could show off to our family and friends, music that we could annoy our neighbours with, and even software to help run our businesses!

Who can forget the thrill of walking into a games store and browsing through the many and varied software titles available for the Spectrum, or dazzling your jealous friends years later with the astounding graphical power of the Amiga!
