the Spectrum games section - everything runs a little
faster and looks a little neater.

now added a search facility thanks to Google. Also a
new guestbook has been added so please leave a comment!

Good
news for all retro TV fans, I've finally added some of
my favourite TV clips. Look out for some classic adverts,
gameshows, cartoons, kids tv programmes and the old but
very memorable public information films!
New
site up and running! Completely redesigned and with a ton of
new content! Now you can play several games on-line, listen
to music and re-discover many different
games on many different home computer formats.
Also
included is a section on classic PC games and a section covering
my favourite Arcade games of yester-year.
For
TV fans there is now a section on my favourite programmes from
the 1980's and 90's. Ranging from cartoons, adverts, public information
films and channel idents there will be something for everyone!
Retrofest 2007
If you missed the recent Retrofest 2007 event
in September that was held in Ayrshire then you can view some
pictures here.

23.04.2007
Completely
revamped, re-hosted and filled with lots of new content. Look
out for the brand new .POK section for lots of poke cheats
for Spectrum games!
23.10.2006
Completed more reviews for the Spectrum section and added more
screenshots. Added zoom function for each picture. Also added
some GIF videos for lots of Spectrum games so now you can watch
them in action! For some reason my guestbook is not working,
I'll blame my ISP for that
22.08.2006
More redesign to the Amiga, PC and Spectum sections, including
the RZX video files. Also added some GIF videos for some games,
and enabled the zoom of screenshots when clicked!
02.08.2006
More changes to the site and additional content added. Check out
the amiga and spectrum sections, and the new pc section or post
something on the updated guestbook now back to it's former glory!
Enjoy the site.
The amiga games are now all on one page for convenience, with
more screenshots to follow. As always the site will be regularly
updated.

Another week on RetroIsland.co.uk - what's been happening?!
Added some moreAmiga and Spectrum games reviews, also added more
content in the extras section - check it out!
GamesTM : Another good retro section in this magazine out in the
shops now.
RetroGamer : Latest issue on sale now, features lots of excellent
articles including one on the Amstrad CPC.
30.05.2006
More Spectrum games added, complete with reviews. Usual cosmetic
changes completed throughout the site.
Another retro month passes by. Once again another excellent and
professional Retro Gamer magazine issue this month, lots of interesting
features and cool articles - I like the Gauntlet one! If you haven't
bought this magazine buy it now!
GamesTM also features an excellent retro section, catch the really
good Last Ninja article if you can in this months issue.
Managed to buy the Midway Arcade Treasures game for the PC at
last, saw it very inexpensive in Tesco's - excellent value for
money and lots of original arcade games like Roadblasters and Tapper
to play, together with information, flyers and original cabinet
pictures etc. Maybe I'll get the second part sometime soon......
12.05.2006
Another redesign for RetroIsland, incorporating a new logo of the
island and pics of classic computers. The side menu bar has changed
format too meaning quicker page-loading times.
The rest of the games on-line have now been reviewed and rated,
and additional screenshots have been included.
Many thanks to my ISP f9.co.uk for providing so much web space
to host this site - I have tried several ISPs and none can match
f9 for extras like cgi, web space and technical support.
22.02.2006
Yes the original Retroisland steps into 2006 with a fresh, improved
look and a variety of content! And what a year it hopes to be
with the retro scene now increasing in popularity thanks to commerical
magazines like Retro Gamer and also via mobile phone games and
remakes of classic games. And not to mention that I'm getting
married this year too! I hope there is something here on this
site for everyone and that you enjoy it as much as I have enjoyed
making it.
As well as removing the old guestbook and newsboard the content
has been redesigned. Now the Amstrad and C64 sections have been
removed in order to expand the site on the Spectrum and Amiga computers
(sorry but I'm limited to 100mb now and no CGI). A new PC section
will also be added to cover some of the classics for this machine
that I presently own.
In-depth reviews including a few unique downloads have been included
for IT Came From The Desert, AntHeads and Indiana Jones And The
Fate Of Atlantis with more to follow.
The Extras section has been added for a bit of fun and to have
a break from all things retro.
Please do send me a message via the guestbook to let me know of
any improvements or additions to this site, and also let me know
any of your annoyances so that I can build on the listings.
Expect many additions and changes to the site along the way and
happy 2006!
31.05.2005
Reviews, screenshots and downloads added for (Spectrum) Abu Simbel
Profanation, Advanced Pinball Simulation, Azimuth Head Alignment
and 3D Speed Duel.
17.05.2005
New guestbook and newsboard up again! Been really busy these days
but will endeavour to add more content to the site verrrry soon!
20.04.2005
Thanks to my ISP I have lost my cgi files so at the moment my guestbook
and newsboard are off-line but will be back up shortly. It's
amazing in this day and age of mirrored drives, raid arrays and
storage backup that companies still think it's okay to lose data
and not be able to recover it somehow. But what do I know, I'm
just a paying customer......
08.04.2005
Apologies to everyone for the lack of updates - I've been busy
with so many things these days! One site to have a look at is
the RZX Archive. This site contains files which show how games
are completed - I've submitted quite a few games myself recently
and if you 're any good at Spectrum games then complete them
and send the rzx file in to the site.
24.03.2005
Finished the newsboard at last - again thanks to active-scripts.net
for a great cgi script! Uploaded a new quiz for Spectrum games
in the Downloads section, also a few cosmetic changes to the
site.
22.03.2005
Had to catch the boat off RetroIsland for a few days but I'm back
- only a few cosmetic changes made to the site, including a contact
form and error corrections throughout. Visitors can expect a
new Spectrum quiz and more reviews of games in the next few days,
and remember to sign the guestbook!
15.03.2005
Thanks to everyone who has given positive feedback on the site
- I hope to improve it even more in the following months!
A couple of links in the Links section were changed, thanks to
feedback from LeeT off the RetroGamer forum.
Thanks also to Ubersnug, who has kindly donated more pictures and
reviews for the Amiga, which I will endeavour to upload as soon
as I can!
13.03.2005
Guestbook now active! Thanks to active-scripts.net for an excellent
CGI script.
12.03.2005
RetroIsland web-site finally finished and on-line. Even more content
and features will be added in the coming weeks.
17.12.2004
RetroIsland site designed, and retroisland.co.uk domain finally
created. Should be live in a few months all going well.....
